Responsible Forest Sourcing
We help companies to understand the issues, identify risks within
their supply chains and what policies and management systems they will
need to respond to those risks. We work with client to help them make sense of the complex global forestry industry and to help them improve the provenance of their wood products. We have worked extensively with several large retailers and brand companies helping them to understand the impacts of their paper/wood product supply chains and how to respond. Our work includes:
• formulating policies
• developing traceability management systems
• engaging with suppliers
• developing and delivering training for buyers, technical staff and suppliers
• we are also regular speakers at trade events
Projects we have worked on include devising performance monitoring systems and engagement tools to use with suppliers, including guidance on how suppliers should address these issues. We've delivered training on forestry issues and responses to buyers, technical staff, and suppliers. We also, separately, run a Responsible Paper Sourcing day long training programme with Imago Plc for the publishing industry.
We've also worked with several organisations to help them attain the Forestry Stewardship Councils (FSC) Chain of Custody, and a direct manufacturer to help them label a product as FSC certified.
Through our work with PREPS and other clients we've built up a strong network of stakeholders that we have regular dialogue with to be able to ensure we keep up-to-date with emerging issues as they happen. Recently we've designed and launched our own forest source country risk assessment tool which will be available on the PREPS website.
Neil Everett has talked at many events about forestry issues in the paper supply chain and is always happy to discuss them.
